The power to make the change was in you all along. You just had to ring the bell and ask it to come out.

i don't have a bell. everyone else has the bell. i've relied on other people ringing the bell for me all my life and now i can't do anything because nobody's willing to live to ring a bell for someone else all their life

Nobody has the bell but opportunity. The bell is outside opportunity's door, and it was put out there because knocking is violent. (You shouldn't have to brutalize an innocent door w fists to get opportunity's attention!)

And when you get opportunity, you don't hold onto it because no one needs to hold onto it for ever, or it will drag you downriver with it. Like a really heavy piece of driftwood flowing out to sea or a freed lily pad. If you're a frog wanting to get somewhere a little better, you just let it take you far enough and then you pass it on for the next person - having without possessing.

If opportunity isn't here now, don't be alarmed - it'll make its way there someday.

If you're ever feeling "ruff", go search for a dog. Dogs were put on this earth for when you feel bad. they are loyal and pure and kind and if you put your hand out they will let you pet them there is absolutely no downside to dogs. they cure you of your ills and warm your feet on cold days. i think dogs might actually be some kind of black magic

The glass is never half empty! It is always completely full, of varying amounts of liquid particles or air particles or if you put pudding in there then particles of a colloidal dispersion.

Air is good too and if it's full of air, take a deep breath! Deep breathing calms your body down. Taking deep breaths activates your parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for activities of when our body is at rest. That means it can help stop the firing of all your nervous hormones when you're in a stressful situation. Many traditions of meditation practices tell you to concentrate on the breath. Focus on it, feel it move inside of you, analyze it, visualize yourself moving it from one part of your being to the other, put yourself into that breath (and ]url=http://gunnerkrigg.com/?p=875]pull that part ou[/url]t, into the sky and spread your arms out like wings)

What if the glass is metaphorically empty? Just like when someone says "I feel empty," : they aren't really empty. They have organs and cartilage and stomach juices hanging out in there. They just feel purposeless. Maybe this glass is having an existential crisis, and it needs a support group.

What if the glass is in the vacuum of space?

There's no reason for this | Or this | Death is inevitable | You can't challenge fate | The smallest change | I'm overwhelmed
I'm serious | It makes perfect sense | Easy as ABC! | I can't even explain it | Cleaning up someone else's mess
I suck | I rule | I've got it made | Really, I'm serious | This bugs me | It's all lies | I want to believe | Beauty is a curse

What if I made them empty? What if I harvested their organs? What then, Wheat? DO YOU HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THEM TOO?

There's no hope for me wheat. I'm a cannibal. And cannibals have to eat too :///// donate to Cannibal society today. Put your brain to better use... in our stomachs!

I've grown tired of Wheat's diatribes so I've endeavored to eat wheat.

If the glass is metaphorically empty, then:
1.You can realize it's not actually empty and FILL it with purpose!!!

2.You can accept the benefits of emptiness. It's why i mentioned some meditative traditions; daoism and buddhism both see light in nothingness. Space allows for flexibility.

The race is won not through speed, but through pace. Unless it is a short-distance race, but those races are puny and brief, and it seems like a lot of work for only 15 seconds of excitement

Or if the race is a video game, the race is won by alternately mashing the a and b buttons as swiftly and gracefully as possible.

also as I said before winning is not a status but a state of mind, so nobody actually wins or loses, except if you think you do. winning is used in this example figuratively, following its commonly understood parlance.
