Sun Worship
[Image: JJ9SPM.gif]Love that sizzlin' orb!!!![Image: JJ9SPM.gif]

Look up at the sky today, and you will find a great friend who always tries their best to be there for you. And i'm there for it. I try to spend as much time out in the sun as possible (i've been rewarded for my diligence with my skin being replaced by tough natural armour). Each day @ sunrise I get out my 3000 lum flashlight and shine it at the sun for a min. of 30 minutes, to help it along by "charging it up" so it doesn't have to break as much of a sweat for the rest of the day. some times when there's clouds I scream at them, to help drive them away and when it rains I sacrifice a few plants on my altar to give back some of the energy the Big S gives out every day growing all of the trees and shrubs and crops of this great green earth

I try to do my part, what are all of your tips and tricks for appeasing that hot celestial bod?

And feel free to bust out your favorite quirks, headcanons, and nicknames for the big loveable big burnball, as well as any cool sun-related stories.

if you belong to a certain sun worship sect, DO share! but DON'T shame outsiders or try to prove your sect's superiority. this is a friendly thread with a sunny disposition, and we're all just one of many rays under one sky together :)

RE: Sun Worship
first story: one day, I was down in the dumps. my car had swerved off the road and the load of groceries had spilled out the window into the mud. things seemed to be at their darkest. But suddenly! Just then! I felt a warmth on the back of my neck. it was the sun, having emerged from a cloud and come down to visit me and rekindle my spirits. I knew then that I could prevail in my trial and what do you know? I did. my skin started producing more vitamin d, which I could feel coursing through my veins as I got out of the car and picked the bag of groceries up. it turns out the mud had been thoughtfully dried out so the groceries wouldn't be ruined. thanks sun

I like the moon too, because it's like Sun: After Dark. but it's only given life by the sun, my congregation holds luna as only a lesser object of attention.

The sun promised me untold power and riches if I destroyed this world and replaced it with an identical virtual copy. All I got was a massive responsibility and crippling guilt.

The sun is obnoxious, can't stand it. It's only redeeming qualities are the life-giving rays it emits and the way it strikes the moon to showcase the moon's obvious superiority as a celestial object.

They're both divine orbs in the sky, though the moon is a subordinate orb. A helper orb. The sun pulls most of the real work.

if you want to expound on that, i'd love to hear your reasoning for saying that?

Did you do the correct jigs and dances? what branch of sun worship was it? there are some fraudsters out there... might not have been real sun worship...

Please keep this thread troll-free. The moon is beautiful in its own rights, but please mind, this is a sun worship thread.

No, you just weren't giving it enough food pellets. Don't try to pin your lack of responsibility on the sun.

Hey, I'm not trolling, I'm just conducting a CIVIL DISCUSSION here. As they say, don't burn so fiercely you blind yourself, chump.

I grew up in Sun Worship just like all of you, (Enlightened Rays of Glorious Bounty, IF it matters) but after years of fervent worship and not inconsiderable sacrifice, I abandoned this greedy, spiteful, sunburn-giving ball of hot gas and came around to the worship of the Everchanging Orb and her gentle beauty.

Because if you're being honest with yourselves, I think you already KNOW that the sun doesn't REALLY like you. It doesn't even look at your gifts, the sun just throws them onto its Eternal Furnace with no regard for who sent it or what it was.

I was conceived in the heart of Sol, a child of atomic fire and plasmic breath, and I emerged from its roiling depths, immortal and molten from my first moment to the last moment of all else, to carry forth this message of hope and warning:

SPF is kind of a scam.
