The Wander Island Incident - Night Four - Five For One [13/21]
RE: The Wander Island Incident - Day One: Incident Report
honestly, right now my read on schazer is “extremely tired, posting during breaks in exhausting activities and therefore alternating between manic, testily combative, or a blend of the two”
I wouldn’t call it “town” but I don’t REALLY care to analyze stuff mostly intended to have no actual meaning to the game at hand, even if there might be some kind of info hidden inside it

I’m having trouble parsing your second paragraph, are you saying you don’t get a great vibe from schazer but that what coldblooded said seemed like a read town would have? personally I’d say it didn’t really seem that town to me, I’d expect town to retain a bit more paranoia d1

@Numbers. Maybe Sai is hinting at something happening if LegendaryQ and Granola met each other. There is some hint nuggets ™ in some people's flavor stuff in the role pms.

Not only does it offer no substantial stance on me, but tries to brush aside everything being currently discussed. Instead of *trying* to offer anything new, they put the onus back onto me.

So I'm seeing a misinterpretation here, so I'm gonna take a moment to clarify and more specifically point out what I consider "RVS time silliness."

I already previously noted that I consider RVS time to essentially end at #88, so thusly I consider things beyond that to not be RVS time post-#88, and things pre-#88 to be RVS. (ignoring Schazer, I second Acio's want for a gun)

The posts I consider to be of your (as in Reyweld's) concern that I don't care about because they're regarding earlier RVS are posts #95 and #116, that started the "Reyweld debate." In short, these posts are you talking about Acio and Airey's early RVS votes and disappearance, and an earlyish vote by Numbers that you saw a potential scumminess to (but that you acknowledged was probably just a joke vote). #116 is you responding to Acio asking for clarification on your thoughts on the Numbers vote. All three of those posts (Acio/Airey vote + Numbers vote) you reference I consider to be RVS, so I don't really care about #95 and #116. This is what I refer to as "RVS time silliness."

What I do care about is the resulting discussion between Acio and others about what your response in #116 means (e.g. Acio suspecting town blind and asking others), and that was what I was responding to in the post you quoted. Me passing the "onus" to you is me noticing that you hadn't really responded to that debate at all (you'd responded to Acio in #116 and left it there), and I wanted to see what your opinion was of their analysis of you.

Hopefully this makes things more clear.

Now, with that out of the way, other thoughts:
- Schazer's shenanigans are a nullread for me. They're annoying and if I thought Dini was crazy enough to put a jester in a game I'd assume that that was the reason why, but I don't so I'm leaving it at a nullread and hoping that something meaningful comes from Schazer in the future.
- Willing to support a Sai lynch, or at least make it look more threatening in a hope to make them come out.
- Numbers is okay I guess. Want to see more of them -- they've been paying more attention to what hasn't been happening as opposed to what has (NTA hasn't posted, where did Sai go?, etc.), which isn't a bad thing, but I'd prefer both over just one.

All the same, “has only posted once” is itself a point of concern. Though some unique perspective on the present situation would be ideal, knowing you’ve not gone and bit it already would do just fine too.

What up

Vote: LegendaryQ I'm of the opinion that recommending a lurker lynch late into a slow D1 is looking for a low information death to kick the game off. While we've heard plenty from the school of thought that D1 is a drag, I'm more than happy to go with a more aggressive D1 lynch if it means there are more sophisticated thoughts and more interaction surrounding it, which means we can get more information out of it.

As far as I am concerned, a D1 lurker is little/no information worthwhile gained. Not thrilled with the vote direction presented by lQ so that's where I'm parking my vote for now (today?).

Numbers' early play isn't thrilling me either but I feel it's general nervous first time play over any particular town/scum inclined first time play. I'm willing to re-evaluate it tomorrow when more information comes to light and we see more play from them. In the same vein: interested to see how Airey, Schazer, and Robust Laser do early tomorrow. Airey is shitposting, Schazer is very mechanical, RL's post #155 gave me the yike (singular).

No other major standouts in the negative opinion direction at the time of writing.

What makes you think that so early?

But I also kind of want to bring attention to this! Because yeah, that's a weird thing to say as early as page 3!

So lets clarify, Vote: Sai, what do you mean by this? Does 'not partnered' mean non-aligned or something? What's the logic here?

Not partnered means not knowing that they are teammates, yeah, and I think that's the easiest thing to try to get a read on early as opposed to actually Town v Mafia. It's just based on how Q replied to Granola's vote, and it's the sort of thing I try to look for in general. It's not a strong read, just the only content that I had that was actually mafia related by that point.

Currently feeling slightly iffy about you Coldblooded and Granola. Take that for what you will.

Not gonna spend too long on meta here, but I've always hunted by finding townies or people that aren't on a team together and then gone for scum by PoE. I'll typically be down to lynch whoever's not on my safe list unless I've noticed something egregious.

no thanks because you think everyone will be like " yeah na" and lynch you instead or because you are scared to hit town and then get lynched for a bad call/suspected of scum?

right now i doubt we will hit hard lynch for d1 and the soft lynch will be the factor. it would be bad if we go without a lynch d1.
I'm a little surprised Airey didn't vote for Slorange here.

-
Adding a break since this isn't addressing a quote exactly, but I'm in the 'almost always lynch' camp, including/especially D1. Again, not going to go too much into it, but the lynch is our best info tool and only reliable weapon, so any sort of not-lynch (almost ever) is essentially just trying to lean on powers, which isn't mafia.

Really big disagree here with Slorange / awkward carapace, but I think that's just a gameplay disagreement rather than them being scum.

Hey now, I consider Lurker a pejorative. I get what you're saying, but in general it's probably a good idea to lynch lurkers earlier because otherwise you're stuck without much to read on them later.

I like that post more than nola's, since it actually lists why they're giving Numbers a pass.

I'm going to Vote: Schazer for now, actually, but I'm going to do one more pass of the thread.

Questions now that I've read wall:

Sai:
- Out of curiosity, just poking the me/Granola thing in a general aspect, what sort of value do you find in early posts? A lot of what threw me off with that post was that it was with respect to early posts that would easily fall in the realm of RVS (I certainly consider them as such).
- Opinions on the whole Reyweld thing?
- Thoughts on Numbers in general? (newbie town or perhaps something else, or too early to tell, or....?)

Fair perspective. I still hold a quiet party is lower lynch priority than a more vocal suspicious party in the very early game where less is known. Later on, different story.

lurkers are just a problem no matter what you do with them

anyways Airey’s and Schazer’s avatars are too visually similar and it’s making it hard to skim the thread to find posts. I think we should hold a special election to force one of them to change

can we not lynch a lurker please that is zero information later along jesus christ you clowns i just wanted to pressure them for answers thank you

Unvote

Again I wasn't happy with your silence but aside from that I can accept your logic there. Still don't know why you made that claim of 'unpartnered' so early but at this current point in time I think it's a dead lead.

aND YES, I don't like Schazer's magic bagging soft claim nonsense of "murder all five of my asses" too, alongside their muttering of "It's cool to not contribute on Day One because Day One is stupid" but that's all kinda just reeking to me of Third Party of sorts more than anything else.

But ugh at this point though we're probably not going to get a lynch through and let it be known I am not comfortable with wagoning on Sai that hard (even if they did just say "don't pick on me I always get almost lynched especially on day one" nonsense)

I think that people that know they're on a team don't casually address each other when they're making dumb/simple posts and instead have to actually think about doing it. I think this actually gets harder when people are being more conscientious about posts and the player list and including each other player, but that there's still something more natural about people addressing someone whose affiliation they don't know.

Quote:- Opinions on the whole Reyweld thing?
I don't have a strong read on Reyweld, but I do like their pressure on you.

Quote:- Thoughts on Numbers in general? (newbie town or perhaps something else, or too early to tell, or....?)
I think they're newbie, which makes it hard to tell, so I was actually more interested in how people were addressing or ignoring them. The fact that Granola picked on you, for instance, and straight up ignored numbers mattered more to me than the fact that numbers' post was basically a worse version of yours.
